Chapter Seven: Chrysalis and Butterflies

Rosaline went to the bookstore. She stayed there for quite a long time, reading almost two books. The store owner kept looking at her. What on earth a girl was still doing here  late at night? She kept reading those books until the store owner asked her to come home because the store was going to be closed.

Wondering alone in the city park -- feeling so hungry and sleepy--  Rosaline didn't want to come home. She didn't want to think about anything at that time, but even how hard she tried not to think about it, those thoughts kept coming back into her mind.
Photobucket

"Rose!"

She  thought she heard Valentin's voice calling for her, but when she turned around,  there was no one else there.

Valentin wasn't there.

Photobucket

Photobucket

She kept herself busy the next day in Claudine Girard's house, helping her a little  in her garden. Mrs. Claudine taught her about gardening and shared some tips about how to grow a perfect grapevine.
Photobucket
Valentin came to pick her up in the afternoon, but when he arrived,
Photobucket
Rosaline avoided him.
Photobucket

Things become more awkward, especially after Valentin  walked into Rosaline taking a bath. "S-sorry, I didn't see anything, Rose."
Her face turned red. She thought she could not look into his eyes in the same way again.
Valentin felt  embarrassed as well. Plucking his guitar, he realized the differences in Rosaline's behaviors. She never neglected him before, never like this. Maybe it was only a temporary emotional changes, and she would be just like before, a friendly and cheerful girl.

He went outside to the hill to  find unique gems, but  there a butterfly landed on his nose. It was a beautiful butterfly.

Photobucket

"Hello there, did you just touch my nose? You're cute. I will keep you. Rose will be happy to have you."
Photobucket
Back at home, Rosaline found a dress in a closet. It was an old gown of her mother. She remembered that her mother loved to wear the dress for special occasions. She took it from the closet and tried it on.

Unexpectedly to her,  Valentin came inside and found her wearing the dress. He was stunned, seeing the view in front of him.
Photobucket

He took a step closer while holding his breath.

"Rose, you look... stunning."

"Thanks." She answered him gently and  then walked past him.
 Photobucket

Valentin could see that Rosaline was still trying to avoid him and it made him wondered if he had done something wrong which had offended her.
Photobucket
He sighed, looking at a panting made by her mother - a painting of a fairy little girl surrounded by butterflies. He then remembered of the butterfly he had caught.

"Wait! Would you go out with me tonight, Rose?"
"Go out? Where? It's already late."

"Only for a while, there's a place that I want you to see. Come on..!" Valentin took her hands. He's taking her to a tower not very far from a river.

"Remember that I wanted to show you a comet?"
"Yes?"
"Well, you may not see one tonight, but you can see stars-- so close like you could almost touch them."

Up there on the tower, there was a telescope.
Photobucket

It was a very old telescope, an antique one.  Feeling so amazed, she looked for the stars using the telescope.
Photobucket
The night was bright and clear that Rosaline could see stars glowing beautifully. Valentin only  stood there -- staring at her. For him, there was nothing more beautiful than the girl in front of him.
Photobucket
The girl was laughing ridiculously, but those laughs made him realize that he loved her more than as a brother.
Photobucket

The other night, Annabelle was being aggressive. She told him that she wanted to stay over, but Valentin could not lie to himself nor to Annabelle anymore. He never thought of Annabelle  the way she  thought about him, not when his mind and heart were somewhere else. He realized it, but of course, he could not say about it to her  and especially not to Rosaline. All that he could say was...
Photobucket
"Sorry."
Photobucket

He wished that everything was easy that he could say the whole trut, but he promised his mother that he would not tell Rosaline about the truth and to treat her like his own sister. Even if he had not made the promise, he was worried that she might end up feeling hurt when she found out about her real mother, or worse, they would fall apart because of the awkwardness she would feel about him. So, maybe it was for the best. It would be better if he kept his feelings to himself.
Photobucket
"So, Little Fairy, how is it feels like being up here? Do you feel like a butterfly flying up high? Have you forgiven me?" Valentin held her hands and  swung it gently.

"Val, I..."
Photobucket
"Rose, could you see that those stars will glow brighter, especially if you are smiling? They will  glow shinier than your teeth there."
Photobucket

Rosaline chuckled. His words melted the tension between them. Actually, she wasn't angry at him. She was just feeling a little confused about everything. Being teenager wasn't easy.

  And then in the morning,
Photobucket
Annabelle came and suddenly slapped him on his face. She was  angry.  She thought that he should not have acted that way, giving her false hope and dumped her with no reason.
Photobucket

It would be long for her to be able to forgive him.  "I did not come here for you. I came  here for Rosaline."

Valentin wondered why Rosaline and Annabelle suddenly became friends. He hoped that Annabelle would not make fun of him in front of Rosaline, though.

"Rosaline, so it's finally?" Annabelle asked her as she came into the bathroom.

"Yes, I've got it today."
Yup.... Rosaline finally has had her first period.

"Oh, I'm so happy for you, Rose. Now, don't panic. I bring you some supplies. Don't bother to say thanks."
Photobucket
 "Thanks anyway, Annabelle."

PhotobucketPhotobucket

Valentin couldn't help himself from wondering about the changes--  to why those girls   became so close so suddenly. The air was quite cold that night and he was feeling a bit hungry, but he still needed to catch those fish.

When he turned his head around, he saw a girl walking toward him.

"Rose? what are doing here?  Shouldn't you in bed now?"
"I'm just going to hang out for a while. I will catch fish faster than you.  You can stop treating me like I'm a nine year old. I'm a grown woman now."
"oh, since when that is?"
"Since today." Rosaline smiled and made him wonder.
"Do you know Annabelle is going to Canada?"
"Really? How did you and Annabelle get so close?"
"We're girls. We shared our secret."
"Oh? And what is your secret?"
"If I told you, it won't be a secret anymore."

Photobucket

"Did you know Annabelle really liked you, Val? Are you regretting for breaking up with her?"
"No, I guess no. I have someone else in my mind."
Photobucket
"Really? Who is she?"

"It's a secret and it won't be a secret anymore if I told you." This time it's Valentin's turn to giggle.

Rosaline pouted.
"Okay, I will tell you a clue." He said, reeling in and then threw the fishhook again.
Photobucket

"She's cute, nice to be with and smart, but sometimes she could be so foolish to even notice something which was right there in front of her."
"Really? But, I think... she's okay. I hope she will realize about your feelings, though."
"Maybe she will or maybe she won't."
Photobucket

Photobucket

"Eh, anyway.." Rosaline cut him off. "Annabelle is a nice girl. She promised me that she will write letters from Canada. I hope she will be happy with her mom there."
"I hope she will be happy too, Rose."
Photobucket
Valentin reeled in, wondering why he often caught small minnow when Rosaline was around.
Photobucket
He would be glad this time though because Rosaline had only caught a piece of birthday cake  inside a black box. Strange. You could always find strange things in the lake.

The cake reminded her that Valentin would have a birthday soon.
Photobucket
They ate  burgers on the side of the lake.
Photobucket

He told her a story about a ghost haunting the lake.

"When the moon shows up in the night like this, something in the water will  come out of the lake, creeping out of the water, its hands reaching out to the land..."
Photobucket
 Rosaline's eyes wide opened until...

"Whoaaaa!"

She dropped her burger. Valentin laughed. "Sorry!  I couldn't help it. Your face. It's so funny."

"Valentin!! I'm going to get you!"

To be continued...

Photobucket
This chapter ended this way. Valentin will have his birthday, aged up to young adult and back to Chapter One and Two.  The next chapters will be about his meetings with a man that will change his life and also about the reveal of Rosaline's real parents. When he grows up to be a young man, will his feelings for Rosaline change? Will they be apart when Rosaline finds out about the truth of her past?

The next updates for this blogs and my other blogs will be appended for about two weeks. I have some work to do that will need lots of concentration, so no playing game and blogging for me in this couple of weeks. I hope you will be okay with it. See you again at the next update!

And .. aren't they just cute?
Photobucket

Photobucket
You didn't get your first kiss with her, as you have wished, but at least you two are best friends forever now .

Oh, yes, I almost forgot I changed Annabelle's trait. She is not appropriate anymore but still hot headed ;)

I swear, this reads like a book. It's so interesting. It's going to be a long couple of weeks.
The story blends so well with the pictures and that first picture is just so beautiful.

I've never seen the fairy/butterfly painting before. It's beautiful.

All the things that the designers put into this game still amazes me.

Dee, thank you. I do really hope that I could finish my work sooner, but it depends on third party also. I still able to read & comment on your blogs though. Usually, at first I imagine a story line, see how they react and their wishes, took pictures, and then arranged them. I still let their free will on, but when I leave their household I will turn off some of the Twallan SP. I cannot imagine, Danielle is going to be a town thug in Riverview XD I captured one picture of them on the tower at night with the view of Eiffel Tower behind them. It was beautiful, but didn't match with the story line. Those designers did make awesome worlds.

Hi Berry. Glad you like it. Annabelle did not behave well back then. She was confused with herself and her parents divorce, and worse her father was going to marry the other woman. She probably thought that her life was falling apart, and she was looking for some escape. She was shocked to see that Rosaline still able to be friendly with her after all the bad things she said to her, and then she realized of her bad behaviors. She could not find happiness outside, she could only make peace with herself. That's why I changed her trait and she might be better living with her mom in Canada.

Hi, Berry! Thank you for joining here.

Great update! That fairy painting is so sweet. It works perfectly for your story.

You really construct intricate storylines that pull the reader in. It should be interesting when Rose finds out about her past.

Thank you Chrysame. There are some coincidences in this story compare to my other stories :) There are more beautiful paintings I haven't seen, like couples I found in you and Dee's blogs. I'm glad that this one connect to the storyline, though. Helen's paintings are worth a lot after she died, lol.

Great work. I love the dress from her mother, it was very flattering.

Thank you seaweedy. I also have read your story and left a comment there.

Finally catching up here. Loved the story, glad that Val and Rose have made up. And that Annabelle turns out ok once she stopped being inappropriate.

Good story telling, looking forward to more.

Firstly, I love your shot of Val and Rose on the tower over looking Champes Les Sims. So lovely!

Finally Rose has aged up. Yey! I thought that was quite cute how you added the 'girl stuff' in. Made it very real and not so fictional. :)

Glad he dumped Annabelle. lol She really wasn't good for him. I think she has few problems herself that she needs to tend to before she gets into a serious relationship. ;)

Hey there M.J.! I've been attempting to catch up slowly! (Sorry for the slow pace but i really like to start at the beginning when following any story in depth). You have such a beautiful writing style, i am enjoying every bit of this!! Your screenshots are amazing -- i love the one of Rosaline & Val in the flower bush! So adorable -- great idea!!

I'm excited to see what will become of Rosaline and Valentin! =)

Thank you, Lucid Dreams.

In the beginning of the story, it was all quite simple. The plot would be thicken in the later part, though.

I am still learning to write, so I'd love and appreciate any feed backs also thank you for commenting.

I have to do some catch up too in your blog. I love your story and still curious about what will happen next. Real life is a bit taking me out of the blogging world now ;)
